Using an FTP Program with Your Web Sites
You don’t have to use your control panel (cpanel) to upload files to your website. You can use an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program to move files between your computer and your website. If you are using the Windows operating system, you can use a free program, ftp995, to upload and download files to and from your website. You can get this free program at http://ftp995.com I’ve used the program and it works GREAT!
You will need to use your website URL as the server name and then your username and password that you got when you requested your website. The FTP995 program will list the contents of your web site on one side and the contents of your hard drive on the other side. You can drag and drop or you can right click the filename you want to copy or move. It works a lot like Windows Explorer and should be rather intuitive.
